15th JULY 2008 - Kedah Sultan’s Golden Jubilee celebration (Parade)

On 15th JULY 2008 - Planning to go for a Solo Ride but end up with taking photos ... due to wake up late n my daughter keep asking bout the Golden Jubilee Celebration ...

Reach there (Kanchut area) around 9:00am .... I just managed to snap few photos  :

Red robes were draped over the elephants – a male named Deli and two female named Mariam and Ita.

The ‘Bahtera Emas Lapis Suasa,’ preceded by nine horsemen, makes its way through the streets of Alor Star.

Duli Yang Maha Mulia Al Sultan Almu’tasimu Billahi Muhibbudin Tuanku Alhaj Abdul Halim Mu’adzam Shah Ibni Almarhum Sultan Badlishah, Sultan Negeri Kedah Darul Aman.

Few programmes have been lined up for the Golden Jubilee Celebration, including a community luncheon at the Sultan Abdul Halim Stadium on July 19, river festival at Tanjung Chali on Aug 1 and Aug 2 and a state expo at Darulaman Stadium carpark from July 23 until 1st Aug.
